A bit of context

In the past 18 years, Mito has grown from three guys averaging 27 to over 230 people, dreaming up the most clever things our clients have ever seen — unless they’ve seen the Large Hadron Collider. We make campaigns, digital products, customer experiences, and data-driven marketing for brands all over the world.

The role

In the past 18 years, Mito has grown from 3 guys, averaging an age of 27, to over 230 people dreaming up the most clever things our clients have ever seen (unless they’ve seen the Large Hadron Collider). Along the way, we’ve evolved together with the world around us: as digitalization, design and agile ways of working kept bringing new challenges, we kept adapting and reinventing how we work.

Now we’re looking for an experienced design leader to redefine and lead our Experience Design & Delivery practice. You’ll own the vision, the craft and the business performance of the practice, making sure the experiences we design actually get built: from the journey to the launch, with coherent and scalable design systems, accessibility built in and measurable quality. In short: design that matters and ships.

Why now? Many believe AI makes designers less necessary. We believe the opposite: when anyone can generate a screen in seconds, framing the right problem and orchestrating experiences across people, channels and AI agents matter more than ever. That’s why we’re making experience design a consulting-led, strategic pillar of our CX offer. Your mission is to lead this shift, give the practice new ambition and a new voice inside Mito and in the market, and show what great design looks like in the age of AI.

Your tasks will be:

  • Practice Strategy & Craft Leadership: Shape the practice’s vision, services, positioning and craft bar with the CX Director, and keep design aligned with business goals together with the CX Strategy & Business Transformation Lead. Reposition experience design as a strategic, consulting-grade part of our CX offer with a strong, recognizable identity.
  • Thought Leadership & AI: Build the reputation of Mito and the practice through standout projects and professional results, stay on top of design, technology and AI trends, and proactively experiment with new tools and solutions for our services.
  • Business Development & Productivity: Take an active pre-sales role in presentations, pitches and proposals, and own the design and delivery parts of our offers. Represent Mito as a trusted design advisor, keep clients satisfied, and steer the practice’s capacity, utilization and budget.
  • Design Ops: Build scalable processes, tools, templates and quality frameworks that make high-quality delivery repeatable. Rethink our workflows and services with AI, explore new frontiers such as agent experience (AX) design and agentic commerce, and turn experiments into new services for our clients.
  • Delivery Excellence & Quality Assurance: Own the quality of all design output, from user validation and usability checks to the craft bar, while balancing quality and utilization. Lead resource and capacity planning, support estimates with account, PM and production teams, and manage delivery risks through to launch for consistent experiences across touchpoints, online and offline.
  • Research & Insight: Lead solution insight work, support customer and business insight activities, and manage partnerships with research providers.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, lead and grow a team of Experience Consultants and Experience Builders of all levels. Bring new energy and shared ambition, and help people evolve as AI reshapes the craft, from executing briefs to shaping them. Set goals, give feedback, and build career paths and competency frameworks so the team can do its best work.
  • Embedded Teams: Make sure our client-embedded teams stay well integrated with the core team.

We would like you to have:

  • At least 6 years of UX/product design experience, 5+ years on digital projects and 3+ years of team leadership, ideally in a design consultancy, product company or in-house on the client side.
  • Strong credibility in UX/UI, service or product design and design strategy, backed by a portfolio of projects you’ve taken from concept to launch.
  • The presence to advise senior client stakeholders, and the ability to present and explain complex ideas clearly.
  • An inspiring, empathetic leadership approach: you rally a team around a new direction, coach and motivate people through change, and build a culture of craft pride that talented designers want to join.
  • Practical AI fluency: you use AI in your design and delivery work, critically evaluate its output and know how to design AI-powered experiences. You see AI as a chance to redefine UX/UI, and frontiers like agent experience (AX) design and agentic commerce genuinely excite you.
  • A systems and delivery mindset: you spot weak points in complex setups, estimate accurately, and treat scalable processes, capacity planning and QA as everyday tools.
  • A user-centered approach, genuine curiosity, and the persistence and ownership to uphold craft quality all the way through delivery.
  • Fluent Hungarian and business-level English: you can comfortably run a negotiation or client presentation in either.

We would be extra happy if:

  • You have experience across several industries. We care more about range than one deep vertical.
  • You have experience in business planning and business development, including pre-sales and pitching.

Why you’ll love this role:

  • A real mandate: the chance to reshape a practice and its reputation, with the backing of our CX leadership.
  • An experienced team with deep design and delivery know-how, ready for its next chapter.
  • Room to experiment: time and support to explore how AI changes our craft and the services we offer.
  • Inspiring brands, complex digital ecosystems and a wide range of industries and markets.
